Cinema 42 Short Film Submission Guidelines Form  

Our goal is to provide a platform for regional filmmakers to have their work seen and appreciated by the Southern Oregon PBS community. 

This will be a short video interstitial filler for longer programming breaks. This program will highlight the people, places and ideas from our broadcast region. Cinema 42 will feature local independent filmmakers that range from students to scholars of the moving picture.   

Submissions to Cinema 42 should be minimum 5 minutes to 15 minutes maximum,though exceptions can be made in extraordinary circumstances. Originality, creativity, engaging storytelling, and an ability to reach the intended audience are encouraged. We welcome innovative approaches and invite you to include animation, drone video, found footage, project trailers or personal audio/visual material as it relates to our region.  

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS  

To be eligible, applicants must meet the following criteria:  

The filmmaker or production entity must retain copyright and have the ability to clear the project for all SOPBS platforms. 

Projects may have appeared at film festivals or on broadcast or digital platforms, but the filmmaker must currently hold the copyright or have the ability to grant project rights to SOPBS. 

The filmmaker or production entity must have artistic, budgetary, and editorial control over the proposed project. 

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at time of film submission, if the submitter is under 18 a Parent or Guardian of the submitter must be grant permission. 

Applications should include link(s) to video, or selects from the project.

To ensure high quality we ask that video submitted should comply with the following technical specifications: Format: H.264, Dimensions: 1920x1080, Frame rate: 29.97, Audio: ACC/Stereo/48kHz/256 bit rate and a -12db. 

By submitting your film you acknowledge and agree that you have read, understood and fully comply with all submission eligibility information and submission guidelines. To the best of your knowledge, all of the statements in your submission are true. Your film or video is not subject to any litigation nor is threatened by any litigation. You are duly authorized to submit this film to Southern Oregon PBS (SOPBS). You hold SOPBS, its owners, management, juries, subsidiaries, agents, sponsors, affiliates, and etc. harmless from any and all claims of liability resulting from your entry. You certify that you have full rights to all aspects, including the use of the music, in the entered work You give permission for SOPBS to download your submission file for private programming purposes before any status notification.
