The Kate - Season 5

The national live-music series The Kate returns to Southern Oregon PBS this summer, premiering Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m. with an all-new season of engaging and exciting performances filmed at the charming Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.

The Kate has earned a reputation for being more than a music show – in-depth magazine-style interviews bookend bold and pristine music performances by artists with talent, attitude, and chops. This national public television performance series looks at music from cross genres and pays homage to the series’ muse and namesake. The result is a singular series, stacked with respected artists taking to the stage with personal stories, honest expressions of art, and of course, incredible music.

Season 5 performers include:

• Grammy-winning country musician Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives. Airing Friday, July 10 at 8 p.m.

• Roots music visionary Delbert McClinton and the Self-Made Men + Dana. Airing Friday, July 17 at 8 p.m.

• Sister folk-pop group Joseph. Airing Friday, July 24 at 8 p.m.

• Americana/rock trio The Wood Brothers. Airing Friday, July 31 at 8 p.m.

• Jazz singer and pianist Kandace Springs. Airing Friday, Aug. 7 at 8 p.m.

• Genre bending funk troupe Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Airing Friday, Aug. 14 at 8 p.m.
