ABOUT US:

Southern Oregon Public Broadcasting System (SOPBS) is an independent media voice located in Medford, OR. SOPBS provides programming and services of the highest quality, using media to educate, inspire, entertain, and express a diversity of perspectives. 

SUMMARY:

This fundraising position manages the station’s Membership Department and Member Services. Reports to the Director of Development. Full-time, hourly position, Monday-Friday at our Medford television station. Starting salary $20/hour with benefits after sixty (60) days.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Assist members with daily inquiries via phone and email
  • Collect and sort membership mail
  • Process membership, major donor, and corporate support donations through our database (NGO Connect))
  • Generate and mail weekly acknowledgement letters
  • Maintain all membership records
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and yearly membership and pledge revenue reports
  • Attend all MSB (Membership Support Bureau) Teams meetings
  • Provide administrative and project support to the CEO and department heads as requested
  • Occasional evenings/weekends may be required for special events

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Experience with membership data software
  • Excellent computer, phone, and communication skills
  • Enjoys interacting with the public
  • Attention to detail
  • Investigative and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • College degree preferred
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Knowledge of Public Broadcasting System preferred
  • Experience with NGOC database highly preferred

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands and work environment described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required (up to 15 lbs.), filing documents or store materials throughout the workday. Proper lifting techniques required. For the most part ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional equipment as found in a typical office environment.
