Season 13, Episode 1: Student Reporting Labs at Hedrick Middle School

PBS NewsHour Student Reporting Labs (SRL) is a project-based learning program focused on video storytelling, broadcast journalism and civic engagement. SO PBS has three pilot SRL sites at schools in Medford School District and Eagle Point School District where students learn how to make news segments, that are considered for airing on PBS NewsHour’s 7pm evening broadcast. Students learn hard skills like using cameras and shooting video, to soft skills like cultivating talent for video interviews.
