Class of 2012–13: Abby Prawitz

STUDENT SHOWCASE: Abby Prawitz
Musical Comic
Roseburg High School

Fourteen-year-old Abby Prawitz is no stranger to the arts. Since she was five, she has taken violin lessons, voice lessons, and performed for the Douglas County Youth Orchestra, all of which she still continues today. After getting a taste of the arts through violin, Abby decided to try her hand at singing and acting. She has performed in several Umpqua Actors Community Theater and Umpqua Community College’s Oregon Musical Theater productions.

Her many singing and acting credits include the title character of Annie in Annie, Sybil Grey in Ken Ludwig’s Sullivan and Gilbert, Molly in Neil Simon’s Jake’s Women, the principal character Gretchen in the original production To Be A Swanby Dr. Jason Heald, and Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown. Abby hopes to continue to grow and excel in the arts so that the Great White Way (NY Theater District) will be within reach.
